Session 1 – Farm Welcome & Safety Briefing

9:20 AM – Coffee Agronomy & Farm Tour
Duration: 50 minutes Location: Coffee fields (30 acres)
Hands-On Activities:
● Coffee Plant Detective Work: Identify coffee flowers, green cherries, and ripe red cherries
● Altitude Challenge: Measure how our 1,550M elevation affects plant growth
● Soil Testing: Feel and compare different soil types in coffee areas
● Coffee Picking Competition: Learn selective harvesting (pick only the red ones!)
● Variety Comparison: Touch and examine SL 28 vs Ruiru 11 coffee plants
Learning Goals: Understanding how coffee grows, what affects quality, and sustainable farming practices
Session 2 – Coffee Lab Experience
Duration: 40 minutes Location: Coffee processing facility
Hands-On Activities:
● Cherry to Parchment: Help operate the pulping machine (with supervision)
● Grading Challenge: Sort coffee beans by size and quality
● Mini Roasting: Watch small-batch roasting and help monitor temperature
● Cupping Experience: Taste different roast levels and identify flavors
